Fire Marshal with the Contra Costa Fire Protection DistrictMr. Marshall has served as fire marshal with the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District since 2014. Previously he served in the same district as fire prevention Captain and as an inspector. Mr. Marshall received his bachelor’s degree in Fire Science/Management from the American Public University System. Under the direction of the Fire Marshal, the Fire Prevention Bureau has five main divisions: Code Enforcement and Inspection, Engineering and Plan Review, Public Education, Fire Investigation, and Exterior Hazard Control. The Fire Prevention Bureau provides the highest level of fire prevention services through comprehensive inspections and code enforcement, plan review and engineering services, public education, fire investigations, and exterior hazard control to ensure properties are properly constructed in accordance with local and state codes. The Fire Prevention Bureau provides fire prevention services to citizens who live or work in the cities of Antioch, Clayton, Concord, Lafayette, Martinez, Pleasant Hill, Pittsburg, San Pablo, and Walnut Creek, and in the unincorporated communities of north Alamo, Bay Point, Clyde, East Richmond Heights, El Sobrante, Montalvan Manor, North Richmond, Pacheco and Tara Hills. The Fire Prevention Bureau also serves the East Contra Costa Fire District under contract by providing fire prevention services for the cities of Brentwood, Oakley and the unincorporated communities of Bethel Island, Byron, Discovery Bay, and Knightsen.
