Mr. Potter graduated from Washburn University School of Law in December 1994, and he practiced law in Northwest Kansas until 2013 when he moved his practice to Wichita, Kansas. His practice focuses on family law and cases dealing with divorce, child custody, child support, paternity, grandparent visitation, and post-decree modifications. During his career Mr. Potter has handled more than 30 appeals and participated in mediation in more than 800 cases. He has appeared as counsel in 23 different judicial districts in Kansas encompassing more than 85 counties, the Federal District Court for Kansas, Kansas Supreme Court and Kansas Court of Appeals. Mr. Potter is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, the Wichita Bar Association, Wichita Bar Association Family Law Committee, including serving as chair of the committee currently, and from 2020 to 2023, and the Northwest Kansas Bar Association. In 2019 he was named a Fellow with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, as well as receiving certification as a trained mediator and a trained arbitrator by the Academy. He graduated from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, with an emphasis on family law in 2018, and is also a member of the National Board of Trial Attorneys. Mr. Potter holds and “AV” attorney, peer rated for high professional achievement by Martindale-Hubbell, and he enjoys a 10.0 rating from the Avvo attorney website. He and his lovely wife Corrie make their home in Wichita, and spend time with their children, looking after numerous pets, reading, dancing, and trying to spend as much time outside as Kansas weather allows.
