Mr. Pinigis graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering but found his way into fire protection engineering almost 30 years ago and stayed there. He spent his early engineering career in the insurance industry and has spent the last 25 years as a consulting fire protection engineer with a focus on federal and military projects. Mr. Pinigis has provided building code and life safety analysis for hundreds of facilities from auto manufacturing and munitions to museums and other cultural properties. He is a registered fire protection engineer (FPE) in 11 states and has worked on projects all over the world, with visits to project sites in 12 countries.
