Vice President/Director of Pre-Construction Services at GSL Electric Inc.Mr. Capell specializes in electrical cost estimating. He is a journeyman electrician, president of the Salt Lake Chapter of the American Society of Professional Estimators, and a vice president at GSL Electric, currently operating as manager of Pre-Construction Services. Mr. Capell began his career as an apprentice electrician working for H&R Electric from 1998-2002. In August of 2002, he began working for GSL Electric as an estimator. From 2006 to 2012, Mr. Capell worked as a project manager for GSL Electric, managing a wide range of projects including small commercial, large commercial, large industrial projects at Kennecott and Barrick mines, water and waste water projects, and projects at food processing facilities. Mr. Capell has an associates degree in Construction Management as well as a bachelor’s degree in Technology Management both from Utah Valley University. He completed his electrical apprenticeship at Utah Valley University through the IEC program and currently holds journeyman licenses in the states of Utah and Wyoming. He is also a certified professional estimator. Mr. Capell oversees all hard bid estimating for GSL Electric. The types of bids include a wide variety of facilities and types of construction such as small commercial, religious facilities including many LDS temples, food processing facilities, healthcare facilities, educational facilities, industrial projects including power plants, various mining applications, and oil and gas as well as water and waste water projects. He manages and trains the estimators working for him, maintains the software estimating database and works with the project management team after the project is captured to maximize productivity and cost savings opportunities.
