Pavement Engineer, CEMEXMr. Shaw is a professional engineer with CEMEX. He provides technical design and construction consultation on cement based pavements to owners, agencies, engineers, project managers and contractors and other stakeholders who are evaluating pavement alternatives for construction projects on local roads, streets, highways, parking facilities, airports and industrial applications. He also works with agencies and owners to revise and write specifications, advance state-of-the art design methods and technology such as roller compacted concrete (RCC) through the promotion of optimized standards, and develop construction practices. Prior to joining CEMEX, Mr. Shaw spent over 10 years with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) as a transportation engineer, where he was roadway designer, project manager and contract manager, among other roles. Some of his responsibilities included facilitating meetings and representing the department on agency-related projects. He established and maintained an effective working relationship as a liaison between the consultant communities, other department sections, local governments, federal agencies, other stakeholders and the public to ensure success of the project development process.
