Dr. O’Rourke is a consulting engineer specializing in structural analysis and design, lifeline earthquake engineering, snow and rain loading on buildings and failure investigation. Dr. O’Rourke has published many books including Rain Loads: Guide to the Rain Load Provisions of ASCE 7-16” ASCE Press 101 pages, 2020 (with A. Lewis) and “Guidelines for Snow Loads on Solar Paneled Roofs” ASCE Press E-book, 2016 66 pages (with N. Isyumov) E-ISBN 978-0-7844-8024-3. Dr. O’Rourke also chaired the ASCE 7 Snow & Rain Load subcommittee from 1997 through 2017.
