Mr. Marasa is a graduate of the University of Louisville with advanced studies in the geosciences. Since joining Hayward Baker in 2005, Mr. Marasa has used his 39+ years of experience as a practicing geotechnical engineer to assist engineers and contractors with matching appropriate geotechnical construction techniques with specific site challenges. He frequently makes in-house presentations to engineering and construction firms to educate or update staffs on current ground improvement and foundation construction techniques including grouting, micropiles, earth retention, vibro techniques and many others. Mr. Marasa has published articles and papers internationally, including papers on ground improvement, landslide mitigation, concrete sampling and testing, micropiles, soil mixing and sinkhole repair. He has made presentations at numerous seminars and short courses across the United States and in Canada. Additionally, Mr. Marasa leads instructional sessions on ground improvement and other specialty geotechnical construction techniques.
