Kalinski, Ph.d., P.e., Michael E.

University of KentuckyDr. Kalinski holds a B.Sc. degree from the Colorado School of Mines and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. During his 30-year career, he has specialized in geotechnical engineering and engineering geophysics as an educator, practitioner and researcher. As an educator, Dr. Kalinski has taught the undergraduate soil mechanics course and graduate courses in earthquake engineering, groundwater seepage and landfill design at the University of Kentucky for over 15 years. As a practitioner, he has worked on numerous geotechnical projects across the country and frequently provides advice to other engineers. Dr. Kalinski has also provided his expertise around the world in places like Norway, Haiti, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates. He is a licensed professional engineer in California, Texas and Kentucky and a registered professional geophysicist in California. As a researcher, Dr. Kalinski has published dozens of journal articles on a variety of topics in geotechnical engineering and has written a textbook on laboratory methods in soil mechanics.
