Micah Shapiro

IM HydroMr. Shapiro is the Principal of IM Hydro, a Philadelphia-based, design-build firm focusing on retrofit stormwater management solutions. His projects range from green and blue roofs to rain gardens and underground detention. Prior to that Mr. Shapiro was roof-bound running Urban Ecoforms with his efforts aimed at green roof design-build with a reach from New York City to Washington D.C. In addition to working in stormwater management design and installation, Mr. Shapiro is a partner in RainBank, Inc. This Boston-based company, developing a smart system that utilizes sensors and weather forecasting data to optimize discharge rates of stormwater, is sure to change the way cities use their rooftops. In his spare time, Mr. Shapiro volunteers with the Community Design Collaborative and the Overbrook Environmental Center, and he holds adjunct positions at Philadelphia University.
