Mr. McAdams has over 20 years of experience working in the fire service, in both operations, prevention, and wildfire. He has served as a member of the board of directors for the International Association of Wildland Fire (IAWF) and on the editorial board for Wildfire Magazine, is an experienced fire investigator and holds International Code Council (ICC) certifications as Fire Inspector I, II and Fire Plans Examiner. He has been a guest speaker/panelist for several webinars, as well as presenting at numerous national and international conferences. Mr. McAdams started MC Fire, LLC, in 2017 to provide professional consulting services - primarily writing WUI Code and Wildfire Safety Plans for AHJ’s, developers and campuses, as well as providing training and instruction for wildfire mitigation, fire investigation and code compliance. He instructs courses about structural ignition vulnerabilities and creating fire adapted communities. Mr. McAdams graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Boise State University. On a more personal note, Mr. McAdams and his wife, Dana, have been together for 30 years, they have four adult children and three grandchildren. He and his wife live in Meridian, Idaho, a suburb of Boise. Mr. McAdams loves to be in the outdoors, hiking, camping, fishing, dirt-bike riding, etc., and is a NAUI Certified Advanced Rescue Scuba Diver. Most notable excursions for he and his wife were diving the Nuestra Señora de Atocha shipwreck out of Key West; the Great Barrier Reef out of Port Douglas and Cairns, Australia; and the Mesoamerican Reef out of Roatan and Utila, Honduras, as well as various locations in Hawaii, California, Utah and Idaho.
