Partner at Shipman & Goodwin LLPMs. Asklof practices in the area of Construction Litigation where she represents owners, contractors and subcontractors in all forums of litigation including alternative dispute resolution processes, and state and federal courts, and in cases involving complex, multi-faceted issues and millions of dollars. With the goal of avoiding unnecessary and/or expensive litigation, Ms. Asklof works closely with clients during the course of a construction project to achieve optimal resolution of claims as they arise. In addition, she assists clients in drafting and negotiating construction contracts and provides guidance to clients engaged in the bid process. Ms. Asklof has been the principal litigator for the University of Connecticut’s (UCONN) Infrastructure Program for the past 12 years, a multi-billion dollar undertaking for the University. She is the vice president of the Connecticut Chapter of Professional Women in Construction, chair of its Mentor Committee and past member of its Board of Directors. She is on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association, Construction Law Section. Ms. Asklof received her J.D. from Albany Law School, Union University. She is licensed to practice law in the states of Connecticut and New York.
