Tom LaPolla

Mr. LaPolla is a trail builder and outdoor enthusiast with six years of experience working professionally and volunteering on trail projects. As the Operations Manager of AK Trails, he has helped plan, build, and maintain trails throughout the eastern United States, gaining hands-on knowledge of diverse landscapes and techniques. He enjoys backpacking, hiking, horseback riding, and biking, which gives him a practical understanding of how different user groups experience and impact trails. His work focuses on creating fully sustainable routes that balance recreation with conservation. Drawing on years of backcountry experience and the skills he developed as an Eagle Scout, Tom is dedicated to building the best possible natural surface trails.
