Kochenour, Cale

Mr. Kochenour is a remote sensing analyst at the University of Vermont Spatial Analysis Laboratory. His role involves the application of object-based image analysis techniques for mapping a range of complex landscapes. His feature extraction projects encompass tree canopy change assessments and land cover mapping across the United States and throughout North America. Notable projects include macroalgae mapping along the Atlantic Coast, Agave plant identification in Mexico, land use classification within the Charles River Watershed, and tree health assessments in various U.S. cities. Beyond employing established and operational feature extraction methodologies, Mr. Kochenour engages in the experimentation of novel routines aimed at enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of mapping outcomes. He utilizes high-resolution imagery, LiDAR, and thematic data to produce precise and functional datasets tailored for an extensive array of collaborators.
