Mr. Plumpe founded STUDIO39 Landscape Architecture in 1993. He serves as president and principal landscape architect. In this role, he is responsible for oversight of all projects from conception and coordination through the implementation of design decisions. Clients appreciate his attention to detail, ability to understand and incorporate their needs, and his hands-on approach. His dedication to creating memorable spaces and developing community through design has been an integral part of STUDIO39’s success. Mr. Plumpe received his BS degree in Landscape Architecture from Ohio State University. His certifications and affiliations include: Registered Landscape Architect: Maryland, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, South Carolina, Virginia and Washington, D.C.; member, American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA); board member, Fairfax County Architectural Review Board (ARB) for Historical Sites; past instructor, George Washington University’s Landscape Design Certificate Program. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI); the United States Green Building Council (USGBC); and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
