Certified Building Safety and Fire InspectorMr. John Kupcha has over 30 years of practical experience as a plumbing and fire protection designer developing detail oriented system design for commercial, residential and transit projects in the public and private sectors. He started his career as a junior draftsman for a consulting engineering firm in 1984 and worked for 16 years in consulting engineering firms; he left fulltime positions to experience the challenges of sole proprietorship. During that time, he was able to develop his communication, coordination and administration skills through firsthand experience working directly with different entities in the construction industry. His accomplishments include being awarded a certificate of appreciation for assisting in the founding of the 62nd Chapter of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (A.S.P.E.); acting as founding vice president (elect) A.S.P.E. Long Island NY Chapter; acting as lead design engineer for four award-winning projects; acting as lead design engineer for two projects classified as LEED Silver and one project classified as LEED Gold, and acting as lead plumbing and fire protection design engineer on the Arcadis team that proposed the design intent for the proposed $10 billion Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan. Mr. Kupcha is also a NYS-certified building safety and fire inspector which will be upgraded to the NYS code enforcement official certification in May 2018.
