Mahun, Jerry

Mr. Mahun has been involved in surveying education for more than 30 years. Although currently “retired,” he teaches surveying part-time at UW-Platteville. He retired after 19 years at Madison Area Technical College where he taught technical and legal surveying classes in the Civil Engineering Technology program. Before MATC he taught surveying at Penn State-Wilkes-Barre, Purdue University, and UW-Platteville. Mr. Mahun has presented numerous seminars to diverse groups in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania. He has worked for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the Bureau of Land Management, the National Geodetic Survey, and even for the US Army, and he has done consulting as well. Mr. Mahun is a licensed Wisconsin professional surveyor and holds memberships in the National Society of Professional Surveyors, the Wisconsin Land Information Association, and the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors. He has been a WSLS director at large and WSLS Foundation Board member and he has served on a number of WSLS committees and the State Cartographer’s Advisory Committee.
