James Munger

Mr. Munger is a partner in the fire protection-engineering firm QDOT Engineering, LLC, that is headquartered in York, Pennsylvania. The firm provides a wide range of fire protection and code consulting services, including serving as a certified third-party inspection service in the State of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Munger began his fire protection career approximately 40 years ago as a firefighter with Cullman Fire Rescue and went on to serve as a Deputy State Fire Marshal with the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office. He operated his own consulting practice (James G. Munger and Associates, Inc.) for many years prior to becoming a partner with QDOT Engineering.
Mr. Munger holds a Doctorate in Occupational Safety and Health Engineering with undergraduate work in fire protection and fire science. He has been a member of the adjunct faculty of the National Fire Academy for over 30 years. He holds certifications from the International Code Council (ICC) as a building inspector and plans examiner, electrical inspector, plumbing inspector and plans examiner, mechanical inspector, and accessibility inspector and plans examiner.
He is a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers and a fellow in the Institution of Fire Engineers.
