Dawn Courtney Doherty

Ms. Doherty is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. She is also admitted to the Court of Appeals, District of Columbia (1998), U.S. District Court of Delaware (1993), U.S. District Court of New Jersey (1987), U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (1987) and the Washington, D.C. District Court (1988). Ms. Doherty graduated summa cum laude from LaSalle University in 1983. She attended Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law, graduating in 1986. Joining the firm shortly after its inception, she opened the Delaware office and has continued a multi-jurisdictional practice in the area of excess exposure litigation assisting carriers in evaluating, negotiating or defending these matters at trial. Ms. Doherty is the head of the firm’s healthcare practices group and has extensive experience counseling and defending traditional healthcare defendants as well as the ever growing needs of the mental healthcare communities, nursing homes, and same day surgery facilities and clinics. She is a member of the Professional Liability Defense Federation and the Defense Research Institute. As an active lecturer to attorneys and clients for professional education credits, Ms. Doherty speaks most often on fundamentals of practice and ethics.
