Maureen DeLauriea

Ms. DeLauriea has been in the legal field for over 35 years. Her legal career started in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. DeLauriea worked in Litigation, Family Law, Intellectual Property (patents and trademarks) and criminal, as well as attorney recruitment and summer associate programs. She moved to Fairbanks, Alaska and continued her career in the legal field. Law firms are smaller than in Chicago, but that did not stop her from furthering her career. Ms. DeLauriea learned more about the Administration of a law firm, intake of new clients, billing, payroll, and hiring new employees. She  attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks and earned a Paralegal degree. Ms. DeLauriea began teaching in the Paralegal Studies program in 2017 and has enjoyed sharing her knowledge and experience with the students. She currently works in a Law firm that handles Worker’s Compensation, Family Law, Probate, and Personal Injury. Ms. DeLauriea greatest accomplishment was getting her Paralegal Degree. Being able to share her knowledge with other paralegals and learning from other paralegals makes her adventure in the legal field more exciting.
