Chris Kercsmar

Senior Consultant with Engineering Systems, Inc., in Charlotte, NCMr. Kercsmar specializes in structural engineering with expertise in the investigation, evaluation, and repair/restoration of damaged and distressed buildings and other structures. He also has expertise with building envelope investigation, precast/prestressed concrete specialty engineering, fall protection consulting for buildings, parking structure consulting, and new building analysis and design. In addition, he served as a structures specialist with Virginia Task Force 1 (VA-TF1), a FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) Urban Search and Rescue team that responds to domestic disasters, as well as with USA-1, one of only two USAID-OFDA (United States Agency for International Development, Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance) teams that deploys and responds to international disasters. Mr. Kercsmar holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University. He is a registered professional engineer (P.E.) in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
