Bernie Ruffenach

Lead Electrical Inspector, Lawrence Berkeley National LaboratoryMr. Ruffenach is the lead electrical inspector for the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where he performs electrical inspections of facilities and unique laboratory equipment for compliance with all standards. He is IAEI certified in electrical inspection and electrical plan review. His specialties include the NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA, and ASTM PPE Standards, as well as training, inspections, and plan review. Previously he was president of Electrical Safety Consulting, where he developed courses in OSHA electrical regulations, safe work practices, lockout, equipment, diagrams, and the National Electrical Code. Mr. Ruffenach has provided training to electricians; lineworkers; operators; maintenance workers; instrument, relay and switchgear technicians; engineers; and safety and OSHA officials.
